I am excited about having a booth in the Pacific Northwest Sportman’s Show this year. The show runs from February 4-8. In years past, approximately 60,000 people attend this show. I will be located by the TROUT FISHING POND, where kids will actually catch live trout and take them home in a plastic bag. I will also be across from a concessions stand which will slow the traffic. In all I am feeling extremely good about the show.
I have purchased a wonderful trade show display from Ed Bajarana of Zenith Exhibits. Ordered more business cards and info cards for a drawing. I think I have the booth pretty well planned out, thanks to Ed.
I am planning to having a drawing, in which a new ultra light rod and reel will be given away each day. I will also draw for a grand prise of a free guide trip for 4 people ($600 value) at the end of the show. Here are my questions:
- Do you think I am giving away too much?
- Would you choose a different prise?
- As a businessman, what would you want?

Hi Ken,
Those prizes sound awesome. Something unique for a change, instead of the iPods or Cell phones. I am a BIG Jeff Foxworthy fan, so take this suggestion with a grain of salt, what about giving away a big can of stink bait?
The prizes sound great to me. Another thought might be to have smaller prizes that you give out every hour, in addition to the big prizes. Not sure what that might be. Another option is to enter for the big drawing and you get to "spin the wheel" for smaller chotzkies…
I am sure my neighbors at the trade show would complain about STINK BAIT. Although, I could tell kids that it's a magic fish catching formula, so put it on your hands.
