The 99.9% Problem

Saturday, June 6th, 2009
Dear friends, here is a short thought for your amusement:
If 99.9% is good enough, then consider that:
–two million documents will be lost by the IRS this year.
–811,000 faulty rolls of film will be loaded this year.
–22,000 checks will be deducted from the wrong accounts in the next 60 minutes.
–12 babies will be given to the wrong parents each day.
–$761,900 will be spent this year on CDs and tapes that won’t play
–291 pacemaker operations will be performed incorrectly this year.
–107 incorrect medical procedures will be performed each day.
and most likely, not one of these will happen to you.
