You can’t win the game focusing on the scoreboard. Focus on the game of engagement and the traffic will come.

Social networking, by definition, is designed to get you involved AND keep you involved. Building a large following, in a sense, becomes a game. In business, it is not about who has the most followers, but are you gaining more customers?

While it is important to build your following; your following is NOT the business building activity, communicate with your network is. No matter if you are on Twitter, Facebook or you own blogsite, knowing your going for a targeted audience is always the best approach.

Answer the following questions:

1) Who is your desired audience.

2) What topics interest your desired audience.

3) Why are they interested in that topic?

Create a social marketing plan, stick to the plan, feed you audience’s desires.

What are you going to do different in 2009?

Happy Monday All,

Christmas is over and there are only three days left in 2008, have you already made your plans for 2009? If your New Year’s Business Resolutions do not include blogging for business, then you MAY want to review you annual plan. Here is a link to an article published in Business Week entitled Social Media Will Change Your Business

Retail business is WAY down. We all are expecting massive lay offs in the coming months. The government can not seem to stop giving our tax dollars away to mis-managed business comgloments. All of that, however, is totally out of our control. We can only control that which is with-in our reach.
